The Uckfield Town Centre Regeneration Joint Committee is seeking the views of those that live in Uckfield and the surrounding area on their proposals to develop land in the centre of the town.  The survey is only 5 questions and residents are encouraged to complete it as people use Uckfield for business, social and entertainment reasons.  The survey can be accessed here http://ow.ly/TKqen and runs until 2nd Dec 2015.

We are advised that the defibrillator is now in place on the outside of the village hall next to the entrance.  The Parish Clerk is working on organising training and we will let you know dates and times for this when available.  It is however alright for someone to use the defibrillator without training as it tells you exactly what to do and won’t work on someone who is breathing.

The search is on for a friendly, reliable person to lead a local brownie group in Buxted. It's currently been run on a Tuesday evening at 5.30-7pm although times and days could be negotiable. The brownies are a real delight to be with and will give you such rewards as you watch them grow in confidence and shine with their different talents. You'll go home feeling very content and with a huge smile. There is a little bit of training to go through to support you and you will have the support and guidance of our wonderful district commissioner. The pack runs itself with the brownies having a big input into what they would like to do and then a little organising to book things up or buy resources. I don't spend much time during the week at all preparing for brownies. Sometimes no time at all!

On 21 October, our supper talk will be about the unique Garden Museum, founded in 1980 in a derelict London Church and built around a traditional knot garden designed by the Marchioness of Salisbury. The museum was inspired by the discovery of the tombs of John Tradescant the elder and Younger, plant hunters and gardener to Charles I.

In addition to the Tradescant collection, the Museum features art and artefacts and many interesting exhibitions. Beatrice McDermott, Project Manager, will talk to us about the museum.
