 The Hadlow Down Festival Minimize

Hadlow Down Festival 2017 is in full swing!
The Hadlow Down Village Fayre on 17th June was a fantastic day with lots of stalls and activities. We believe over a thousand people attended, and it was an ideal occasion to launch our Festival.
The Festival goes through to 17th September and if you have a hard copy of the Festival booklet, please keep it handy so you can refer to it over the summer period. The community has come together to provide a wide range of events/activities for all ages. Many of the events are free and you can just turn up, others you will need to book your place, so please check it out and book as soon as you can, as there will be a high demand for places.
For dates, times and booking information, please refer to your Festival booklet. If you would like a copy, free copies will be available at the New Inn, Main Road, Hadlow Down, TN22 4HJ, which is open weekdays from 6pm and from midday at the weekend.
Alternatively, you can download our Festival booklet at www.hadlowdown.com and keep up-to-date on our Facebook page, which will give any revised event information.
We would love to hear from you if you have attended an event, and you can send us your feedback by commenting on our Facebook page or downloading a very short survey on the website. We hope you enjoy the Festival and look forward to seeing you at one or more of the events.

We have had a report that there have been a number of odd occurrences happening in the past 10 days or so.
A car alarm was set off on Friday morning by somebody trying to open the boot of the car at 06.40 a.m
Some garden ornaments have gone missing at another house near Wilderness Lane.
There has also been yet another spate of vandalism at the Playing Field. - Health and safety signage has been taken down and the closed Childrens Slide  has had all the H & S tape torn off . It is awaiting a repair which is imminent.
By people taking signs down it endangers children and adults alike. A small white'ish coloured car was spotted at the play area by an external contractor at the time the vandalism  was occurring.
A Playing Field spokesperson says "whilst people might be frustrated at this signage - it is there to protect the public" . The Playing Field committee and the Parish Council are working closely to repair and replace items in the  play area.
If you have any knowledge of any of these incidents you can let the Hadlow Down Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator know by emailing webadmin@hadlowdown.com or phoning 01825830661 it will then be passed on to the relevant bodies or phone the Police directly on 101

Officers have recovered items they believed to have been stolen during a number of burglaries across Sussex. The haul, which includes various items of jewellery and antiques, was discovered by police when they stopped three men back in March.

The majority of dog owners are responsible people and clear up their dog's pooh, are you one of them?

Can people please ensure that they clear up after their dogs at the playing field.  The football pitch is due to open in the summer and with the cricket matches as well it is unhygienic and disgusting for participants to have to play where people haven't bothered to pick up their dog's mess.  Can villagers also ensure that their dog(s) can't automatically get access to the field without them there.

Hanging a filled dog pooh bag in a tree does not count as clearing up after your dog, there is a bin provided at the entrance to the playing field which is regularly emptied.

Thank you for your support in this matter.  Parish Council Clerk
