Village Societies AGM this Friday !

All residents of Hadlow Down are warmly invited to join the Village Societies at their Annual General Meeting this Friday 25th February. The meeting will be held in The Village Hall, on Hut Lane, at 7.30pm.

The Chairs of each Association will give their Annual Report and present their accounts. In addition the societies will also appoint their officers for the coming year.  We will also be joined by a representative from St.Mark’s Church who will be giving an update on behalf of the Rector.

You will hear about all the current initiatives and have a chance to ask questions. Refreshments will be served and plus there is ample time to chat with various members of our Village societies as well as other residents.

 

Perhaps you have moved to Hadlow Down recently or would like to be more involved in what happens in the Village? Do come along you will be warmly welcomed.

The Spring Market Returns

 

The Spring Market is back ! This will be our first Spring Market event since 2019! Do join us if you can in the Village Hall on Saturday 19th March  between 10.30 am and 2.00 pm. Tea Coffee and cakes will be served all morning, we look forward to seeing you.

Stalls will include Cards, Gifts, Preserves, Locally Produced Meat and Plants.

St. Mark’s Swimming Success

St. Mark’s school were placed  first in the Uckfield Swimming Gala!

It was the first time the village school had taken part in the competitions and the participants were cheered on by the staff, parents & friends.  The school thanked  Uckfield College for organising the event and parents for their support.  The  super swimmers worked incredibly hard to secure a top 3 position in every race.

There were excellent individual performances and the overall team result was outstanding.

Fire Services Tackle Hadlow Down Blaze

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Services were called out to a a large garden fire in the centre of Hadlow Down on Wednesday evening.

Outbuildings, gardening machinery, other items and fencing were destroyed in the blaze but we understand no one was injured .
